Storage JSON Builder (Offline)

Build and validate storage JSON structures locally in your browser. Enable JavaScript to use the interactive builder.

What the storage builder produces

The Storage JSON Builder creates a configuration draft describing disks, partitions, RAID arrays and filesystems. It is intended for administrators who already know which installer will consume the file. The generated JSON is not a universal storage standard and does not execute disk operations.

Build, inspect and export a storage draft

  1. Choose a template that resembles the layout you need. Check every device path, partition size and bootloader choice rather than accepting the defaults as a recommendation.
  2. Edit the disk and partition form, then define filesystem mountpoints and any RAID components. Partition flags and array options have different roles in the output.
  3. Builder changes regenerate the JSON editor automatically. Direct editor changes can be imported into the builder or loaded into the comparison viewer. Copy and download always export the current JSON editor.
  4. Inspect the JSON editor, choose a filename and copy or download the editor JSON. The comparison viewer is a separate preview. Keep the exported draft with the installer instructions you used to review it.

What “Valid JSON” tells you

The status checks that the text parses as JSON. It does not verify that a disk exists, that partitions fit, that RAID choices protect your workload or that the consuming installer accepts every field. Match the structure to that installer’s schema and test with expendable devices or a disposable virtual machine before applying it to business data.

Keep storage and server provisioning decisions connected

The Provisioning YAML Builder covers a different task: preparing network, authentication and provisioning artifacts. Review any storage instructions in those files independently; copying this JSON into a YAML document does not make their schemas interchangeable.

For a business workload, server administration connects storage maintenance to the application, while backup and recovery planning covers the separate requirement to restore its data.

Local processing and retained files

Editing, generation and syntax checks run locally after the application loads. The builder does not upload your configuration or inspect the machine’s disks. Download work you need to retain, protect exported infrastructure details and review the tool use terms.
